Alfonso is a pop listener out of his element. In his ventures into the realms of the abstract he endeavours to find the commonality between top 40 and the experimental. Growing up in Australia, he listened primarily to the local classic rock of his parents. In his adolescence he sought musical autonomy and forged his own artistic identity beyond the influence of his peers. This eventually led him to jazz, a style of music with a fascinatingly stark difference in priorities than his usual fare. These days the 20 year old hopes to remove the binary separation of "pop" and "experimental". He operates on the belief that every genre has an inherent merit and that their abstractions are of equal value.
He currently lives with his sister, four dogs and plays double bass. He can be found listening to Eric Dolphy, Mariah Carey, Lil Wayne, Morbid Angel and Gustav Mahler on alternating days.
