Julian is a student of philosophy, freelance writer, and sometimes translator, living in Austria. Despite (or maybe because of) the fact that his attempts at learning to play the guitar were not exactly devastatingly successful, he maintains an interest in writing about music (and in listening, of course). He is drawn to music that is adventurous, intense and original, regardless of genre or style. That being said, he is particularly interested in artists who blend Avant-Jazz with the weirder side of Rock music – a preference that is probably due to the impact Captain Beefheart’s Trout Mask Replica had on him.
