Stefan Wood

My entry into the sonic unknown began when several friends, who were deejays at the Carnegie Mellon radio station, took me under their wing, leading me to have my own radio show which comprised of avant rock, jazz and noise. Initially Miles Davis brought me into the jaz world, but when I heard Sun Ra, there was no going back to listening to the mainstream. The hunger to hear new and different things never diminished; it fills my creative spirit. Once a painter, now a photographer, I live in Northern Virginia, working at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC in exhibition design.
