Sunday Interviews - Adapting Marcel Proust

A century ago, the French author Marcel Proust popularised a parlor game that consisted of asking a number of questions to determine the character and personality of a person. You can find the full questionnaire here, which was often used by newspapers and magazines to interview celebrities.

We thought it was an interesting idea to adapt the questionnaire to interview musicians in a fast and direct way, with positive questions only, and a little shorter.

We will be asking the following questions.
  1. What is your greatest joy in improvised music?
  2. What quality do you most admire in the musicians you perform with?
  3. Which historical musician/composer do you admire the most?
  4. If you could resurrect a musician to perform with, who would it be?
  5. What would you still like to achieve musically in your life?
  6. Are you interested in popular music and - if yes - what music/artist do you particularly like?
  7. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
  8. Which of your albums are you most proud of?
  9. Once an album of yours is released, do you still listen to it? And how often?
  10. Which album (from any musician) have you listened to the most in your life?
  11. What are you listening to at the moment?
  12. What artist outside music inspires you?
As a courtesy to the musicians, we will list a number of their albums that we reviewed recently, with links to find them back easily on our blog.

We think this could be both insightful and fun.
